As a well-established fashion designer living in Florence, Regina Schrecker will focus in her guest lecture ‘Fashion in Evolution’ on how unpredictable events can influence the traditional way of doing, selling and buying in the fashion business.
Regina Schrecker, ex top model and fashion design student, launched her Florence-based brand ‘Regina Schrecker‘ in the 1980’s and quickly became top-level. Throughout the ’90’s she dedicated herself to emerging markets like Eastern Europe and the Far East. Regina Schrecker is one of the brand names that has taken the Italian haute couture fashion message to countries like Russia, the Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Japan, China and Mongolia.
She became President for the Florence Japan Association in 1990 and has promoted a great number of high-profile cultural events ever since, mainly between Florence and its twin-city Kyoto.
From 2000 she started designing costumes for numerous theatrical productions, such as for “Madama Butterfly” at the Festival Puccini, a famous theatrical production which has enjoyed a worldwide public and recognition with performances in major theatres in Japan, USA and Germany as well as at the International Expo of Aichi in Japan.
She presented her new bridal line at the ancient Zen Buddhist temple of Kodai-ji in Kyoto in 2005, in honor of the 40th anniversary of the twinning between Florence and Kyoto.
Regina has furthermore appeared in numerous TV shows and has received many prizes, recognitions and awards for her fashion creativity such as the prestigious ‘ModArt – Margutta Award’ in 2016 as recognition for her great artistic career.
The (online) guest lecture is strongly recommended for all ESE degree students as well as short course students and others with a specific interest in the fashion & luxury goods and other creative business sectors.
The webinar will be held on Tuesday 23rd June from 17.00 – 18.00 (5-6 pm) CET on the platform Google Meet. The link for access will be sent to you after free registration here.
