Open-air business case studies for Master degree students in Florence

As part of the ‘Management for Sustainability & Corporate Responsibility’ class, Prof. Paul Blanchard took the Master (MSc) degree students in Florence out for a site visit to the Bardini Gardens and a business case study of the Pescaie (weirs) of the Arno river.

According to the City of Florence’s sustainability plans, the dykes and barriers in the Arno River will be used to generate clean electricity by installing a dozen of mini-hydroelectric systems, producing an estimated 47 gigawatt of hydroelectric power with a value of 9 million euros annually.
