The guest lecture will be given by Davide Barra and Micaela Surchi from NANA BIANCA – Hubble Acceleration Program.
Nana Bianca is a startup studio on a mission to boost digital entrepreneurs. It’s a melting pot of ideas, technologies and action – a great launch pad for startups. It is located in Florence, the spotlight of innovation in the region: 1500m2 of physical space, 25 startups, 200 developers and entrepreneurs.
Hubble Acceleration program
Hubble is the first acceleration program dedicated to emerging digital projects. It’s primary objective is to discover, launch and perfect the best innovative startups and entrepreneurial ventures. It selects 10 startups each year which have the opportunity to grow through mentorships, workshops, economic support and digital services during an acceleration period of 16 weeks in Florence.
The program was born from an innovative collaboration between Nana Bianca, the first startup studio and digital reference in Italy, Fondazione CR Firenze, which supports startups with the aim of enhancing their presence in the territory, and the Fondazione per la Ricerca e Innovazione, which guarantees advanced training and the links with the University.
Davide Barra – Program Director
Davide Barra is the Program Director of Hubble at Nana Bianca. In his recent years he’s had the opportunity to work in many different innovative startups and has helped developing their growth. He gained his academic experience in the United States completing his studies in Business Administration & Management with a financial concentration. He has experience in the world of logistics, business development and sales. In recent years he has worked in companies such as Foodscovery and Instal contributing to their development, growth, account management and operations. Through Hubble he acquired the skills necessary to guide startups on a both strategic and operational level.
Micaela Surchi – Program Director
Micaela Surchi, of the Fondazione per la Ricerca e l’Innovazione, is a senior business developer with an Honors degree and PhD in Economics. From 2008 to 2014 she was a Research Fellow at the Department of Science for the Economics of the University of Florence. Her research fields are entrepreneurship, strategy, entrepreneurial marketing and brand management with numerous academic publications also in the context of innovation and business models. From 2009 to 2016 she was Contract Professor at the University of Florence teaching strategy, entrepreneurship, business models. She has been a tutor of startups in relation to business planning, business models, fundraising, acceleration programmes and networking with the University of Florence. Since 2017 she has been the coordinator of Hubble, where she develops innovative startups and digital SME.
The Guest lecture on Innovation & Youth Entrepreneurship this Friday 7 February from 10-12 at ESE Florence is strongly suggested to all Business degree students and short course students with specialisation in Management and/or Entrepreneurship & Leadership, but also open to other interested participants.
