Innovation, sustainability and inclusion are not only global priorities but also core values of the European School of Economics. As an institution committed to shaping future leaders through a forward-looking and internationally driven educational model, ESE places technological progress and social responsibility at the heart of its academic vision.

It is with this in mind that the European School of Economics – Rome Campus is proud to participate in the third edition of Rome Future Week, the largest city-wide event dedicated to innovation and the future, which will take place throughout the city of Rome from 15 to 21 September 2025.

The Rome Campus will host two official events during the week, both scheduled at 5 PM at Via di S. Pantaleo, 66 – just behind Piazza Navona – within the historic heart of the city. These sessions are free and open to the public upon registration, and are designed to offer meaningful and interactive reflections on two key aspects of the future: the transformation of visual storytelling through new technologies, and the evolution of work and learning in the digital age.

This workshop explores how emerging technologies—such as Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Production, Augmented Reality, and prompt-based creative tools—are reshaping the world of cinema and the creative roles behind it. Participants will be guided through a dynamic and hands-on session, analysing the transformation of narratives and creative identity in the age of visual innovation.

Structure of the Workshop (1 hour and 15 minutes):

  • Introduction and interactive talk: a brief overview of recent “mutations” in the film industry, from AI-generated scripts to immersive sets and virtual actors
  • Practical laboratory: participants will work on a creative prompt or short visual scene using AI tools, followed by group discussion
  • Q&A session: space for open conversation and reflections
  • Networking and feedback: an informal moment to connect and share further ideas and resources

The event is a unique opportunity to reflect on the evolving landscape of visual storytelling, while engaging directly with current tools and industry insight.

The Future of Work: AI, VR and the Human in Evolution

With Matteo Zaralli – AI Expert and Founder of Vrainers

The second event offers a forward-thinking reflection on how professional training is evolving in response to major technological and cultural changes. Drawing from the contents of the upcoming book “The Evolution of Professional Training” (Routledge, 2025), Matteo Zaralli will introduce immersive and personalised learning models, enhanced by AI and Virtual Reality.

Through real-world examples from the corporate world, the workshop will demonstrate that technology is not replacing humans, but rather amplifying our capacity for intelligence, empathy and collaboration.

Participants will also be invited to experience:

  • Live interactive VR simulations developed by Vrainers, showcasing the learning scenarios of the future
  • The opportunity to reserve a copy of the book presented during the session

This workshop will be particularly valuable for professionals, educators, students and innovators interested in the intersection of human development and technological transformation.

Come and engage in conversations shaping tomorrow.
We look forward to welcoming you at ESE Rome for these two inspiring events.
