Guest Lecture on Metaverse _ 9 February 4.00–5.30 pm CEST_ by lawyers Carlo Rocchi and Lorenzo Marranci

ESE Florence is thrilled to announce the next guest speakers, lawyers Carlo Rocchi and Lorenzo Marranci from the Rocchi & Avvocati Law firm in Florence, for an innovative and avant-garde guest lecture on Metaverse.

Carlo Rocchi is ESE Florence’s Professor of Business Law and founder of the Rocchi & Avvocati Law firm, dedicated to civil and international law and specialised in luxury real estate law. Together with lawyer Lorenzo Marranci, they always search for creative and economically relevant solutions for their clients, and both share a great passion for new opportunities that technological innovation offers.

In line with ESE’s values and principles, they love to think ‘outside the box’, which is why they proposed this state-of-the-art seminar on Metaverse with fresh and innovative minds like ESE students.

Rocchi & Avvocati will start their lecture with an introduction on Metaverse and the innovations announced in 2021 by Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg. Although the system of ‘social virtual reality’ (social VR) is still in development, it has already been able to move various economic interests, creating business opportunities that are important to be aware of from an early stage.

They will then propose a series of juridical and practical views on the development of Metaverse, posing questions and doubts that certainly deserve further consideration. The lawyers will aim to stimulate ‘out of the box’ thoughts of our students, the leaders of a Metaverse future.

The lecture provides an excellent chance to learn more about Metaverse and digital (virtual) developments, starting thinking ahead of time and on a subject that is on the way – a matter that could imply significant economic development already in the short term.

The event will be offered via the platform Zoom and we invite students from all ESE centres to connect on Wednesday 9 February from 16:00 – 17:30 (4–5.30 pm CEST).

For people attinding online, please make sure you confirm your attendance to studentaffairs.florence@uniese.it so that you can receive the link for the meeting via ZOOM.
