Read moreThis renewed partnership follows the successful collaboration in the previous edition, where ESE students gained hands-on experience in organizing a landmark event attended by His Royal Highness Prince William at the Copper Box Arena in London. The event brought together young leaders, athletes, and global changemakers to engage in dialogue and showcase football’s unique ability to promote peace and sustainability.
This year, the prestigious charity will host its flagship event at the Nobu Hotel in London on the 7th of May, where the European School of Economics will donate a scholarship in Sports Management to a deserving student, continuing its commitment to empowering the next generation of leaders in sport and beyond.
Once again, the European School of Economics is proud to support Football for Peace and its vital mission of fostering unity and opportunity through the universal language of football.
30 years ago, ESE launched a pioneering project in the sports sector: the establishment of the first faculty of Economics and Management of Sport in Europe. Our mission was to prepare a new generation of business economists and managers of international stature, capable of overcoming the challenges of the modern sports industry. Within our three-year degree course, we introduced the “Champions’ Program,” designed to support elite athletes with specialized tutors, enabling them to balance their sports careers with university studies and successfully graduate. This initiative has demonstrated that it is possible to harmonize sports professionalism and academic study, resulting in a higher percentage of world champions among our students than any other university.
Our students find in ESE’s academic programs and philosophy the same values that guide their competitive careers: individual attention, intellectual and moral development, the pursuit of excellence, and the constant effort to exceed personal limits. We are proud of our success in transforming great champions into sports economists capable of managing and directing companies and projects in one of the most dynamic sectors of the national economy, bringing their experience, strength, and commitment to the business world.
Drawing inspiration from classical Greece, which used sports, music, theater, and the pursuit of truth, beauty, and goodness to elevate human spirit, ESE envisions a transformation starting at the individual level, believing that improving the world begins with the individual, it requires improving each of its cells.
ESE aims to inspire young people and prepare them for roles of responsibility, making sports a planetary school of truth, sincerity, and beauty. We believe that sports can be used as an instrument of moral elevation in cities across the world, upholding values that can combat the most serious societal issues of our time: poverty, depression, crime. History shows us that civilizations like ancient Greece placed sports at the center of society to fuel freedom, pride, and courage. Similarly, we draw lessons from classical education to develop a new, conflict-free individual, capable of harmonizing Economy and Ethics, Action and Contemplation, Financial Power and Love. In humanity’s quest for self-discovery, sports will be key disciplines that guide us toward our lost paradise.
